Entry 10 – Another bad day
I was still restless last night and I went back out. I tried going south looking for supplies and spent some time trying to break the barricades on a warehouse I came across, to no effect. I rested a short while in the abandonded Nettleton Way Railway Station, then headed back to the safety of St Pius.
But while I was gone, someone had fortified the hospital barricades to the point where I couldn't get back in! I was stuck outside. Time was running short, so I went south again, back to the railway station, and hid there for the night. There were no barricades at all. All I could do was shut the doors and hope for some luck that those things didn't come in.
I had no such luck. During the night a survivor came in, and a zombie must have followed him. I was attacked and bitten, but jerry911, the other survivor, must have killed him. Can't say for sure. I threw the body outside, then used up all my first aid kits on the two of us — two for me and one for jerry911.
After that ordeal, I knew that the raiway station was not a safe place, so I went north to St Matheos's Hospital, but it was sealed tight. Then I tried St Prius's again, but couldn't get in there, either. There were some zomibes walking around the area that I had to fight off a bit. Finally, I was able to get into St Eutychian's Hospital for safety.
I grabbed a few more first aid kits and hunkered down to rest.
It wasn't long before some zombies broke through the barricades and made their way into the hospital. I was so tired from looking for supplies that I couldn't do anything. I could barely even think straight. Besides, I still don't have any bullets for my gun. Luckly, there were some more experienced surivivors were in the hospital, and they handily put down the zombies, disposed of the bodies, and reset the barricades.
It seems I'm safe. For the time being. But you never really know from minute to minute.
I'm going to rest up as much as possible and then head west toward Chudleyton. I hear there's another fire department and police station along the way, and that Chudleyton might be a bit safer than Darvall Heights.
I'll feel better when I get some bullets for my pistol, and figure out how to get past those fortified barricades.
Entry 9 – Searching for supplies
I’m still stuck in St Pius’s Hospital, with no bullets and precious few supplies. Earlier today, I ventured outside. I went north to Wheelhouse Auto Repair, but couldn’t get past those damn barricades. So I went west to the Shehan Way Fire Station, just this side of Eastonwood. All along the way, I could see zombies every where I went. A couple here, a couple there. But they were all over the place. I avoided them as best I could.
A few zombies stood outside the station itself, and the doors were wide open, with no barricades at all. Was it completely deserted and picked over? No. Inside, there were a few survivors and a lone zombie. I tried to hurt the zombie, but I had almost no affect on it. This is so frustrating!
Keeping an eye on the zombie, I searched around as best I could, hoping to find an axe or some kind of weapon, but all I found were a couple pair of wirecutters.
Eventually, I had to give up the hunt for supplies and high-tail it back to St Pius for safety.
It’s unnerving to see all these zombies walking about, as if the situation wasn’t dangerous enough. Maybe I should rest up and try to get of here — head out to another suburb.
I’ll sleep on the thought.
Entry 8
A human survivor inside the hospital destroyed the generator! His name was Colonel Pizza. What kind of maniac would do that us? In all the pandemonium, I didn’t see what happened to him — whether he escaped outside or if other survivors took him down — but he’s gone. It was pretty crazy in here for a while.
Not only do I have to worry about zombies getting in, but now I have to worry about other survivors attacking us or destroying our supplies. I doesn’t seem right. Why can’t we all pull together in this crisis? Humans are not the enemy — the zombies are the enemy! How do I know who to trust?
I’ve got to keep an eye out for Colonel Pizza. I hope we don’t cross paths again.
Some people got a generator powered up after things settled down, so we have power again.
For now.
Entry 7
We made it through the night safely. I still wanted to get some bullets, so once again I went north to the Crossman Grove Police Dept.
It did not look good. A horde of zombies had gathered south of the station at Nurten Avenue. A smaller group was just outside the station. I thought better of it this time and decided not to pick a fight. I was able to find my way over the barricades and get inside the station.
I thought I would be able to find some bullets, but no. There were zombies inside the station! The station was overrun with zombies. I fought them off for a few minutes, but since I didn’t have any weapons, I was useless. One other person was in there with the zombies. I tried to help him, but there was nothing I could do. I fled in fear, hoping the other survivor could manage to do the same.
I’m safely back in the hospital now, resting. I still have no bullets. Somebody hooked up a generator, so the lights are back on, which is nice.
It’s probably better for me to avoid zombies as much as possible until I can find some other kind of weapon to fight with. Bare fists just don’t work well. But most of the other buildings are barricaded so high that I can’t get in. I may have to tear some of the barricades down to get inside a warehouse or hardware store. I need supplies!
Entry 6
I shouldn't have made that second trip out in my search for bullets. Some zombies broke past the hospital barricades (I didn't know they could do that!) and made their way into the hospital. They destroyed the generator, so now we are all sitting in the dark. Some people were killed. Others managed to kill the zombies and to restore the barricades. This time the barricades are pretty strong. If I leave, I probably won't be able to get back in.
Somehow, though, other survivors are able to get in past the stronger barricades. They say it's easy once you figure it out, but you've just got to figure it out.
Yeah, no kidding.
Still, now we're all in the dark. Survivors that make it in are telling stories of large hordes roaming around outside. I can hear them attacking the barricades from the outside. They are trying to get in. And I'm too tired to be of much help. I have no bullets. What am I going to do?
Entry 5
I was still kind of tired, but I really wanted to get some bullets. Folks told me that there was another police station, the Tayler Lane Police Dept, a few blocks to the west. I safely made my way over there, but couldn't get through those barricades, either.
On the way back, however, I spotted a lone zombie walking eastward. I lost him a couple times, but managed to catch up with him just north of St Pius's Hospital. I worked him over with my fists for a while before ducking back into the hospital.
Still no bullets.
Entry 4
While resting in St Pius's Hospital, I learned that you can kill a zombie, at least temporarily. No one knows yet if it's possible to completely destroy a zombie. But they can be put down. They are slow and stupid and you can hurt them.
I wanted revenge.
They told me I might be able to find some bullets in the Crossman Grove Police Dept a few blocks north. I slipped out of the hospital, this time making sure I would be able to get back in, and made my way up the streets.
Before I made it to the station, I came across a small group zombies, about half a dozen or so, standing around on Nurten Avenue.
This was my chance. I had no bullets, but I came up from behind and starting punching and hitting them as hard as I could. As expected, they were slow and stupid and easy to avoid, and I wailed on them for a good while. Soon, though, I realized that I wasn't really hurting them all that much. And I was getting tired. The Crossman Grove Police Dept across the street was also barricaded so strongly that I knew I wouldn't be able to get in there.
I didn't want to exhaust myself and leave myself exposed to any of these damned zombies, so I gave up the fight and went back to St Pius's Hospital for safety.
I didn't get any bullets, but it still felt good the wail on some zombies.
Entry 3
I don’t know how much time had passed, but when I opened my eyes I was in a completely different place.
I was lying on the ground, in the middle of a street, staring up at the blue morning sky. I slowly stood up in great pain and looked around. I was standing outside of a church, St Isidore’s Church. I don’t know what had happened or how I got here, but I was glad to be here, and alive.
The church grounds were littered with bodies. There had to be nearly a hundred of them strewn about, and until just a few minutes ago, I had been lying among them.
As I started to move about, I realized that something wasn’t right. I was ill. It felt like my blood was on fire, burning in my veins Every step I took was a great agony, and every step I took made me weaker.
Was this the end for me?
I stumbled along, slowly, painfully, praying that I could find someone — anyone — to help me. By a great stroke of luck, I came across St Pius’s Hospital. To my amazement, the lights were on inside, and I just able to get inside. On the verge of collapse, I finally made it past the barricades and into the hospital.
Once there, I found that the hospital was a haven to many people. Dozens of people were here. Some had medical training and fixed me up pretty good. After a short while, the fire in my blood cooled and I could walk around comfortably without the shooting pains.
This is where I learned that the city of Malton had been completely sealed off from the outside world by a brutal government quaranteen. An unknown sickness had infected the area, making the dead come alive and feast on the living.
Thousands of people were trapped inside the city, all struggling to hide, to live, to survive. Thousands more of these undead create — these zombies — roamed the city streets, sometimes hundreds or more at a time, determined to kill and eat every last survivor in the city.
In fact, as hard as it is to believe, I had become a zombie myself, after the attack the other day. I had died and become one of them.
Thankfully, however, it is possible to reverse the process with the proper drugs and technology. I don’t know exactly how it works, but St Isidore’s Church is a place where zombies can be revived back into a living, breathing human being. Somehow my zombie self had came across St Isidore’s and the people there revived, and I became human again.
Entry 2
I awoke to find one other person in the theater. He didn't speak, and I never got his name, but he had been busy. He had managed to barricade the walls pretty solidly. I doubt any of those things could get in now. The place seemed safe. But it was dark inside — the lights didn't work
Eventually, I decided to venture out and look around some more. Big mistake! Once I went outside, I couldn't get back into the theater. I couldn't go back in way I came, and I could find another way in. The only safe place I had found was now off limits to me.
Forced to find another safe place, I wondered around, block after block, stepping over countless dead bodies, trying to find another safe place to hide, but every single building was barricaded against those things so strongly that even I couldn't get inside. I wondered how many people must be safe in each of these buildings. Why wouldn't they let me in? Couldn't they see I wasn't one of those things?!
I walked until my feet hurt. I was tired. I had sat down to rest, just for a bit, when one of those thing saw me. I didn't realize it until it was too late. It was on me. It clawed and bit and attacked me over and over. There was so much pain and blood. I tried to defend myself, but I just couldn't fight it off. I fell down to the ground, and the last thing I remember was this undead creature bending over me, with it gaping jaw digging ferociously into my flesh….
Entry 1
I woke up in the Chudleyton area, disoriented. I had no idea how I got here, but here I was and I was scared. I knew nothing except my name was Foobarosa and I was wearing a flak jackat and had a holtered pistol. The streets were empty all around, completely deserted.
I walked around a few blocks, trying to get into several buildings, but they were all boarded up very tightly — I couldn't get in.
Then I noticed the bodies. Here and there, a dead body lying on the ground. Exposed, rotting flesh. The stench was horrific.
I saw a flare shoot up a few blocks away, but I was too scared to go and see who fired it. What could I do, anyway? I didn't really know where I was, or how I got there. I had a gun with a few bullets, but I'm not very good with guns.
I heard a bone-chilling groan off in the distance. It made the hair on my neck stand up. I did not want to know what was making that noise.
Then, I saw one of them. One of those… things. It was a dead person, but standing. It just stood there, slightly swaying back and forth on its legs. Its clothes were encrusted with blood and dirt. Its teeth and jaw bone where exposed where the flesh had been ripped away.
Repulsed and horrified, I pulled my pistol and fired. I'm not a very good shot, but I fired every bullet I had. Miss, Miss, HIT! I hit the creature solidly in the chest, but it just stood there, looking at me with its dead eyes, taunting me. I hit it again, to no effect, before I ran out of bullets. It just stood there, unfazed. The undead creature seemed unaffected by bullets.
I left it where it stood.
Not wanting to come across one those … things … again, I tried to find a place to hide for the night. Block after block, building after building I tried, but I couldn't get into any of them. Was I going to be forced to stay outside all night?
Finally, I manged to get inside Lasbury Cinema. I searched around for a while, hoping to find something useful, but there was nothing. Scared, tired and frustratred, I settled down and hid for the night.
